Favorite YouTube Channels for Aviation Content

These are some of my favorite YouTube channels for aviation-related content (no particular order):

  • FRAproductions - awesome no-comment, high-quality plane spotting airport videos, the resolution on these videos is fantastic and each takeoff/landing is usually filmed from multiple locations…I think they must be German-based…there’s alot of stuff from Ramstein, Munich, etc.

  • The Blancolirio Channel — Juan’s global headquarters are in Northern California, but covers worldwide aviation related content (and even a smattering of interesting non-aviation, like dam failures, etc.) … alot of accident interpretation videos…I like his stuff.

  • 3 Minutes of Aviation — Just like it sounds … hundreds of three-minute (plus or minus) videos featuring planes…no complicated analysis here, just vids… :-)

  • VASAviation - What this guy (Victor) does is harder than you’d think … he takes recordings of air-traffic control communications, subtitles them and matches them with animations and ADS-B data so you can see what’s going on. He works hard, there’s always alot of fresh content.

  • Pilot Debrief - callsign “Hoover” does a great job of detailed breakdown of aviation accidents. He has an interesting background too - a former Air Force F-15 pilot who also carrier-qualified in the F/A-18 in a Navy exchange.

  • L.A. Flights - Plane-spotting at LAX … with commentary. Target-rich plane-spotting environment and Los Angeles natives will love it. He does alot of it live, so picture/cameral quality not quite as good as FRAproductions, for example.

  • Ward Carroll - This guy is a classic…retired Navy officer who served as an F-14 REO … He’s super knowledgeable, has great guests and does a great job…check him out and subscribe.

  • FlywithKay - Kay Hall is an excellent pilot … general aviation would be a lot safer if they were all like her…documents her trips, travels, etc.
